OUR HISTORY
Over a decade in the making
King Solomon’s Vineyard was the vision of Dr. Solomon and Wendy Luo for more than a decade. Knowing the quality agriculture in Schuylkill County, he felt that the rolling hills and soil composition could produce strong grapevines that would grow hearty grapes for winemaking. Dr. Luo understands there is a demand for high quality viniferas in the area. We have set ourselves apart by the exceptional quality of our vinifera harvest. These include Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Grigio.
OUR FAMILY
Deep roots in Pennsylvania
Dr. Solomon and Wendy Luo first moved to Schuylkill County in 1983 with their three young children, Betsy, Caesar, and Stella. The Luos flourished in Schuylkill County, establishing a premier ophthalmology practice while raising the family in Orwigsburg. Beyond the Luos' deep roots in the area, the family shared a passion for wine, and began to see the possibilities the local land could bring to the creation of unique, textured wines. Our family founded King Solomon’s Vineyard to take the specific terroir of Schuylkill County and cultivate delicious, easy to drink wines to share from our family to yours.
